Bruce was minding his own business as he was walking out of the communal bathroom on one of the lab floors, when suddenly a knife that looked very distinctively like one of Natasha’s knives was hurled at his head and missed him by inches. Shocked and confused, Bruce…
Bruce looked at Natasha a little warily. Thinking that her explanation came a little too swift and a bit practiced but didnt press the matter.
“Well shall we? If theres another assassin, not one on our side, running around we need to find him/her before before they get lucky and actually get one of us” Bruce said. he motioned for Natasha to lead so he could keep an eye on her in case she was the assassin.
Natasha and Bruce walked to the elevator and rode up to Tony’s floor in silence, not truly feeling comfortable with the idea of being infiltrated by a rogue assassin. When they arrived on Tony’s floor that had noticed that the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist wasnt there. In fact the floor seemed eerily quiet.
“Natasha I’m not liking this, its uhhh, too quite for this to be Tony’s floor” Bruce said. Looking slightly flustered as his fear was getting the best of him
An Assassin!!!
Bruce was minding his own business as he was walking out of the communal bathroom on one of the lab floors, when suddenly a knife that looked very distinctively like one of Natasha’s knives was hurled at his head and missed him by inches. Shocked and confused, Bruce looked around for the source of the knife and was met by only an empty hallway. He dislodged the knife from the wall where his head would have been and examined it, there was no mistaking it was one of Natasha’s knives. Bruce being the man that he is decided to go see Natasha in person and give her a chance to explain herself before jumping to conclusions. As Bruce made his way to Natasha’s personal floor he had to keep reminding himself to keep his cool, he didnt want to turn into the other guy just yet on the off chance it wasnt her fault. He found her sitting on couch in her den reading a novel, She saw him enter and looked up.
“Natasha, you want to explain this?” Bruce asked. Natasha looked confused as she saw the knife,
“This was just hurled toward my head a few minuets ago as I was coming out of the men’s room close to my lab” Bruce explained.

Natasha frowned and looked down momentarily. ”That’s what the gym is for. Besides training.”
Bruce chuckled a little as he heard her sound reasoning and realizing he was being weak, stupid, and childish for trying to forget his pain with alcohol.
“Yeah you do have a point there Agent Romanoff, I am being a little childish here,” Bruce said, after which he thought he missed a good opportunity to make quip about Tony and his drinking habits.
She pursed her lips and finally looked up. ”I meant for me. I don’t judge other’s habits.”
“oh right, yes that is true. everyone has their own coping mechanisms, Like I’ve noticed that when you’re stressed or something is bothering you you like to go to the gym and work yourself to the bone” Bruce said idly as he sipped his tea

She sighed again, feeling a headache coming on. ”Sure. Tea sounds great,” she replied, rubbing her temples.
Without even thinking, Bruce handed her a cup of tea that was spiked with some of Tony’s strongest liquor.
Natasha took a sip and raised her eyebrows. ”Strong tea, you’ve got there.”
“Hmm?” Bruce said surprised.
“Oh that one was suppose to be mine, I’m sorry,” Bruce said apologetically as he reached for the cup in Natasha’s hand.
She handed him back the cup, scrunching her eyebrows together as she looked him over. ”What made you need that tonight, doctor?
Bruce thought very carefully and very fast about his answer.
“Just some mistakes I’ve made in my life that I want to drown out,” Bruce said with a hint of melancholy before he took a sip of the spiked tea.

Later that night when Bruce tried to get some sleep he kept tossing and turning regretting having given Natasha that kiss. Finally giving up he went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea to try and help him relax enough to sleep. As his tea was ready he thought about going over to Tony’s minibar to grab something strong to put in his tea, when he heard a noise behind him.
Natasha had been reading curled up in a chair in the shadows, just enough light reaching her to be able to see the text. But she had long ago fallen asleep, boredom getting the best of her. She didn’t like all this inactivity. The noise that Bruce heard was the soft thump! of her book falling from her lap onto the carpet as she shifted in her sleep.
The noise had made Bruce jump, he grabbed a fork from the kitchen and went to investigate. Thats when he saw Natasha’s sleeping form on the couch, the sight melted his heart. It was hard to believe that the infamous Black Widow could look so peaceful and cute asleep on the couch, he bent down to pick up her book and put it on the coffee table that was in the room. Bruce then took a big warm blanket and start to cover Natasha with the blanket.
As soon as the blanket weighed down on her, she was instantly alert and she struck her leg out, catching Bruce behind the knees so that he fell onto his back. After another second of waking up, she heard his groan and realized what she had done. ”Dammit, Bruce, I’m sorry!” she hissed, slightly peeved that he brought this upon himself and morose that her first reaction was to take him down. ”Are you alright?” she asked, having moved to help him up.
“ugh its ok Natasha, I should have known better” Bruce groaned as he favored his knee from the kick he had just received,
“No good deed goes unpunished right” Bruce said trying to to lighten the mood
She pinched the bridge of her nose, frustrated. ”I’m sorry, Bruce. But you should know better than to sneak up on a master assassin. Had it been my bed, you would have been shot.” She sat down with a sigh, glancing at her watch. ”Couldn’t sleep?” she asked him, realizing it was late.
“I know, I just saw you here and thought I’d do a good thing and cover you up so you’d be more comfortable,” Bruce said sheepishly.
“And yeah something like that. Tea?” he asked offering her some tea.
